Bridgette’s Bookshelf

A good book, a cup of tea, and nowhere else you need to be. Bridgette’s Bookshelf is a monthly book recommendation tucked inside The Kettle Post. Each month, I choose a book that feels right for a quiet afternoon and a warm cup of tea. Some will be comforting, adventurous, nostalgic, atmospheric, or simply stories I couldn’t stop thinking about. There’s no required reading and no homework. Just an invitation to discover something new.

This Month on the Bookshelf

September 2026 | The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien

A familiar adventure full of comfort, courage, and the feeling of stepping into a world that feels both far away and strangely like home.

The full recommendation, including why I chose it, is tucked inside this month’s Kettle Post.

I also believe strongly in supporting local libraries and independent bookstores whenever possible. If a book catches your interest, I always encourage borrowing it locally or finding a nearby bookseller before ordering from a big retailer.
